My friends and I all had very different pregnancies; both of my pregnancies (albeit one was only the first trimester) were very different; there’s no right and wrong. As for pregnancy being awful, well, I was housebound for the second half of mine and the pain was borderline unbearable but I STILL found pregnancy to be an overall positive experience – not everybody is spotty and nauseous and short-tempered; I didn’t glow, but I did love knowing I was growing a child.
