Thank you so much! I can’t imagine it not being part of our life now – not that I’m planning on stopping yet – it’s just become such a normal, everyday thing that we do. And the cake is great too 🙂

Breastfeeding also flicked my cake-eating switch AND I completely know where you’re coming from when you are stuck on the sofa and can see the remote but can’t quite reach it. Frustrating if it’s a long feed 😀
Absolutely brilliant you had the determination to persevere and get the support you needed. Well done for not giving up and getting past your difficult start.

In reply to Emma. Glad to hear it's not just me! Maternity leave so far seems to consist mainly of cake (I'm not complaining though). I'm tempted to never give it up so I can keep up the cake eating :-)

I think I was just really lucky due to where we live; my GP surgery has a really strong midwife group based there, one of the midwives was in the delivery room to help with feeding straight after the birth, then they were so positive and supportive after. I know loads of people didn't have anywhere near that level of support! Good to hear you've never had any problems in public either. Sure if must be awful if it happens, especially as you're already pretty vulnerable in the position.
