All this talk of playgroup and baby groups has reminded me we’ve been enjoying the new Fearne Cotton children’s book, Yoga Babies. We were sent a copy of Yoga Babies by Fearne Cotton to see what we thought. Disclaimer: We’re Fearne Cotton Fangirls Disclaimer, we’ve ALL been unashamed Fearne Cotton fangirls in this house since this so her name initially sparked everyone’s interest. However, we loved her new book about yoga with babies. Baby Yoga With Fearne Cotton Baby Yoga is Fearne’s new children book, a simple rhyming story about a series of young children trying out various yoga poses, with the poses demonstrated in the pictures. I wouldn’t have said that we have a particularly zen household, especially not first thing in the morning or during the school run, and most times I’ve tried normal-no-kids-yoga I’ve never been able to stop my mind from thinking about a million other things at one. But reading the story really did encourage us to try it out, and while none of us have the peaceful, still vibe or perfect balance yet it was a lot of fun, and it’s a simple way to encourage children to try something relaxing and new. If You Love Baby Yoga… If you want more yoga, both of my also love Cosmic Kids over on YouTube – if you’ve not seen it, the channel is a collection of easy, active yoga routines for children, set to children’s stories including Frozen, Harry Potter and Star Wars. It’s guilt-free healthy screen-time, they love it, it’s not egg-opening videos – what’s not to love? Yoga Babies by Fearne Cotton is available in most book shops and costs around £4.99. Fearne is working with Huggies to launch the new Style and Go wipes packs. So it was pretty exciting to be asked to take part in the shoot along with lovely fellow Huggies Ambassador Emma, who blogs over at Life According to Mrs Shilts. Our normal Fridays at home are pretty laid-back, with highlights including the dizzy heights of the park or possibly a trip to the shop thrown in for a bit of variety. So this was ever-so-slightly different… We acted out several scenarios with Fearne, including baking and painting (predictably; messy carnage that the children all really loved). Emma and I even got to have our hair and make-up done (how amazing would it be to have someone do this all the time?) It was such a fantastic experience that seemed surreal at times. Fearne was absolutely lovely and super friendly, so it was a lot of fun. And did I mention slightly surreal?! It took place in a massive Victorian town house filled with so much interesting stuff, from the photos on the wall to all the quirky things dotted around. Such house envy. I’m pretty fortunate to take part in some amazing things due to blogging, and this was right up there. We’ve been sworn to secrecy about this so it’s brilliant to finally be able to tell everyone. Not our usual Friday afternoon then..!
