I wrote one for P1 – they laughed and didn’t even look at it. So although I had my preferences for pain relief and the placenta injection etc, i didn’t bother writing it. My hubby told them and I told them with P2. Now, I’ve noticed there’s a page in my hospital notes for preferences which I’ll fill just in case something bad happens.

I stick with mine all three times – might be a rarity though. The third birth was supposed to be completely controlled by midwives & doctors as they wanted to induce with drip and so on, but it never happened. I ended up waking up contractions on the day I was supposed to be induced so I just got the pessary & waters broken but ended up following my own birth plan with mobile monitor, just g&a and that sort of thing. Even down to delayed cord clamping. I do think I was really lucky to have what I wanted three times!
All three arrived after having a very long shopping trip!

Well you know my birth plans… Bikini wax and get the car serviced 🙂

So glad you are being ‘allowed’ to go into labour naturally. That will make a difference I’m sure :). Keep well.

My birth plans were carefully laminated by my husband and one stayed on the kitchen table and the second one on his office desk! (why laminated? I am not too sure what he was expecting the birth scene to be like…)

Sex to bring on labour…even solo if it’s all too much to think about the real deal as the orgasm helps the hormones apparently.

I actually had a birth that went just how my plan mentioned – not really a plan just a set of bullet points so maybe that was only because there wasn’t much to follow?!
